RACHEL: My sweet, darling, perfect sister...

LEAH: What do YOU want?

RACHEL: Oh, Leah! We are sisters. We share everything.

LEAH: You mean you have taken everything!

RACHEL: How can you accuse me...

LEAH: You have taken my husband.

RACHEL: He was in love with me first. He saw me first. You were his second choice.

LEAH: You are a wicked little girl. I suppose it is not enough that you stole my Beloved Jacob. You want something more?

RACHEL: I know that my husband has not shared your tent in quite a while, but I can cause him to go to you...

LEAH: How can you? Since he prefers your body over mine, and I have become nothing more than a breeding machine.

RACHEL: Give me those mandrakes that you are holding, I will trade with you: Jacob may go to your tent tonight if you give up the herb.

LEAH: You will cast a magic spell. You will create some elixir that will help you get pregnant. I am no fool, sister. My advantage over you is this: my womb is open and yours is shut. You must give me Jacob for an entire week if you want the herb.

RACHEL: I fear he will not be able to stand the sight of you for that long. One night and only one night. How long has it been, sister, since my husband has touched you? Was it the last time he wanted another child?

LEAH: You may have the herb, and send Jacob to me.

RACHEL: You have my word; Jacob will go to your bed tonight.

[Jacob is sent to Leah’s tent. Rachel takes the herb and makes an elixir. Jacob returns to Rachel’s tent after his night with Leah is over. Soon after, Rachel becomes pregnant: she calls her son Joseph.]
