Dramatic Dialogue -[continued from...Jimmy's Fear]

W2:
How's Jimmy doing?

W1:
We found a good Psychiatrist, Jimmy likes him; he's always more himself after the sessions--but--we haven't gotten rid of the problem...

W2:
Lauren's dildos?

W1:
Yes.

W2:
Isn't Lauren only 16?

W1:
She will be 17 in three months: she keeps reminding us of that; she says: I have 1 year and 3 months before I get to go to the sex parties! She's counting down the days until she's an adult.

W2:
What sort of sex parties?

W1:
She's in this private feminist group, a lot of girls are sexually experimental, a lot are lesbians. They have private sex parties. You're supposed to be 18, but I think they bend the rules for Lauren, from time to time, because Lauren's girlfriend is Legal: she's 19.

W2:
Do you know if Lauren is sexually active with her 19 year old friend?

W1:
My God!--they do it when I'm home -- they have no shame. Sometimes I have to put the TV. on really loud just so I don't hear them. When I wash Lauren's sheets, I sometimes find blood on them so I'm not sure what they are doing exactly, but I imagine it's not safe. I'm not certain but I think the blood is a result of her being sodomized. You know--after her girlfriend leaves, Lauren sometimes stays in bed for a week or more, like some wounded animal; it's hard to get her to go to school. I know she's in pain but I don't know what to do. The toys that they use--they are very, very big: abnormally large.

W2:
And while Lauren's bleeding... you watch TV.?

W1:
I need a distraction! What can I do?

W2:
What you can do is file rape charges. Lauren's just a girl, and she's being abused by a sexually liberated woman. Also, make sure she gets a medical examination, and keep the medical records as evidence of abuse. Tell Lauren to keep a journal so that she can record all of her emotional, sexual, mental, and physical Experiences: both bad and good. If she agrees, the journal should be shared with her lawyer and psychiatrist. It's important that she sees a psychiatrist since much of the trauma she is going through may be in her mind, you have to realize her abuser may deny everything, so you want records to back up her testimony.

W1:
Lauren thinks she's in love.

W2:
As her Mother, it is your love she needs most of all, right now; and she needs your protection.
