Every daisy and rose and orchid
Eventually wilts and dies
Regardless of the care we provide.
Leaves drop, petals shrivel
Covering the ground interstate.

No heirs to squabble over bank accounts
No tearful memories of peak blossom times
Only the willingness of Man to accept Nature
Without remorse or second thought.
We call it a change of seasons.
