::: Outtasight Brotha :::

My outtasíght brotha--now out of sight
It has been a delight getting to know you,
coming to feel you,
existing with you.

Outtasíght brotha--sparkling in your swagger
and golden in your soul body and mind
We were quickly intertwined.
Feel me serenade through my ink scratched lines.

Now out of sight, you have become a distant memory,
a faded reverie
No longer will I think of what used to be.

But I will remember you through the dust that will collect over the years
(I will crawl through cobwebs to remember)
And I will see you through eyes grown far-sighted with age
(I will squint and strain to fully see)
And I will know you through a mind littered with memorabilia
(heavy boxes mean nothing to me)
I promise these things my outtasíght brotha:
To remember you to see you to know you to feel you

[lips upon lips and breath in ear and legs wrapped in legs and arms tangled in arms and chest rubbing against breasts and soul sublimated into soul and eyes locked on eyes]

Yes. I will remember you.

My outtasíght brotha, now out of sight
The day is done and it is full night.
That time just before dawn when the sky is so black its blue;
That time when the air sags with the weight of prayers (and I think of you).

My outtasíght brotha, now out of sight
Let this pen be my final purging
My final remembering--the disremembering of love
[once planted sprouted bloomed to be dead]
Out of sight and ever embedded in my mind
Let this telling bind a soul that has fallen bounced cracked.
Let this telling bring my smile back.
Let this telling fossilize memories into artifacts.

(breath) My outtasíght brotha
Like Desdemona I see you in my mind's eye
[Fully militant in your stance legs spread arms across the chest hair tumbling down back sly smile on the lips and a gleam in both eyes]

Yes. I will remember you
