::: Rain Poem :::

Rain,
tragic-gestured rain,
falls on me,
Wallace Stevens’ rain,
in constant repetition, cadences, staccato, beating my face, rhythmically
umbrellas soon blossom like black roses to show presence
grey slippery cement keeping track of time
sea-spurting rain
against orange-red Calzone sign and evergreen antique awning
lady wearing lavender button drop earring rushes from store to recover from downpour.
