Who robbed my pen
of it’s ink
and spilled it down
the kitchen sink.

Did that groovy man
just give me a wink?

Sigh Sigh
My pen is dry.
Take it
Break it
I won’t die.

Even if I never write,
I’m just as happy
running along a shore
flying my pink kite
through the wild wind
and in the sunlight.

As for my pen,
I don’t want to
look at it again.
Go ahead:
call me, wake me
out of bed.

Grab my hand;
steal me away:
through the night
into the next day.

Oh, I’m a writer
I almost forgot
What makes you think
you are going to get
more of what
you’ve always

got?

Take my ink for granted
and I’ll take it away.
Even if you fell to your knees
to plead and pray:
there is nothing I will write
and nothing I will say:
you will just have to--
miss me miss me
and wonder who gets
to kiss me kiss me
blissfully blissfully
I’m off to play.
