:::The Drowsy Altar :::

He was a good man
Their friend that lies here
One of a kind
And man of the year
Who could have forgot
His big playful smile?
Especially those
Who knew him a while
A marvelous husband
Number one dad
They can't even remember
A time he got mad
Oh how they'll miss
His cheerful embrace
Always leaving them laughing
All over the place
But now they must leave
He's said what he's said
As they close the lid
On his final bed
The women will weep
The children will cry
But by this time tomorrow
The eyes will be dry
Today will soon pass
Oh, life will go on
But lying here tomorrow
Will be some other John
And here where I stand
In less than a day
Will be the same man
And what will he say?
He was a good man
Our friend that lies here
One of a kind
And man of the year
