James Pendragon

My poetry was written in prison where I served 40 months for stealing two million dollars.  Regarding me, I give you the words of Langston Hughes,
"I could tell you if I wanted to;
What makes me what I am;
But I don't really want to;
And you don't give a damn."

::: Thank God for Paper and Pen :::

Thank God for paper and pen,
'cause there's a war raging in my head again.
Poetry helps to download my mind,
it allows hurt and anguish an outlet to find.

Pouring forth damning mental thoughts,
put to paper brings them to naught.
Grinding mind of senseless pain,
there's a war raging in my head again.

Grief uncried lingers inside.
Please understand I can't abide,
'cause of this war raging through my mind,
Manic depression's on the winning side.

My only defense is paper and pen.
I use it to drain my mind of pain and grief.
Alone I suffer seeking relief.

Wanting it to end.
This war raging in my head again.
