::: Lost Connection :::

Never free from the anxiety of trying to escape the proposed propriety
Southern lady manners and mentality expected
but I had a city soul and philosopher's mind caused me to be rejected
Constantly so that my mind rests wearily on the hopes of better days
Escaped to city rain from Texas burning sun rays
I wonder some days, if I'll always be a fool
Too much myself to give up a day of writing poetry to go to school
So I watch my personality split and duel
No longer the wide-eyed child, victim to small town mom's denial
Sorry but your little girl was born a poet wild child
If you would only accept that your calls would go unavoided and your number might even get dialed
At least once in a while
