::: Wishes and Dreams (parts 1 and 2) :::

As the Sun drowns in horizons' depths,
From safe haven you slowly emerge.
Under cover of darkness, your silent steps
Ease muscles stiff. With hungers' urge
You spot your prey, path undisturbed
Lest it get away, your advance is curbed
By fluttering flock of wings so sudden
With surprise your prey starts runnin'
Beyond your lethal grasp it stumbled,
Caught itself and as you mumbled,
"Drat!", it turns and off it sped,
While on it's heals, threw knife; it bled.
A furlong further, it lay and tremble
When running, trapped, a spider web.
The more you struggle, increased the snare,
And when I saw the ebb undulation,
I knew the web was inviting it owner,
As it came, with I the donor,
It creepy-crawled and raised it's fangs,
I found my knife, unsheathed, it rang,
Suddenly, from somewhere distant,
The smell of coffee, that same instant,
An army of straw soldiers, marching,
In uniform, So smooth, then arching,
Like a wave it swept away the web,
And leaving behind instead
Of the giant Spider that tried to eat me,
Coffee, eggs and bacon greet me,
As shadows melt, with open eyes,
All the girls smile and say, "Surprise!"
"Happy Birthday Mom!" They say as one.
As they left, a faint, "Hear I Come!"
Through the door, just a birthday suit,
With hearty tones, and Pair of boots,
Came "Howdy Ma'am, just Call me Bones!"
Desert is served, Oh how it's grown.
