::: Lair :::

Ever wonder what it would be like to ride on a dragon and kill hundreds of soldiers well you don't have to anymore with this game. The one thing about Lair that has been said in many reviews is that the controls are horrible and that they keep it from being a good game. From playing the game myself I will say this the controls are not horrible perfect no but they do fit the game I guess if there is sequel a analog control option could sway the crowd who don't favor it. But if you can move your wrist and hands up and down left, right you should do fine with this game seriously. Now to the actual review Lair centers around a world where the landscape has been drastically changed do to environmental changes brought on my volcanoes which has split humanity into two groups one side that lives in a more suitable environment and another group that lives in a more harsh habitat add a little anger, conflict and dragons and you have Lair. You play a character named Rohn who is part of the Asylains sky guard who protect their city using dragons. You start the game off defending your city from a Mokai attack. As the game goes on you find your self in battles that range from attacking incoming enemy ships to air battles with other dragons mid-air. One of the cool Features of Lair is the pursuit and attack modes in the game while chasing down a enemy you can decide to fight dragon to dragon, shoot them out of the sky or go through a kill sequence where you dismount your dragon hop on your enemies dragon and slay the dragon rider then the dragon itself this sequence is called a takedown that can be activated when your dragon is in rage mode. The takedowns are some of the best scenes in the game and are varied. Lair also features the ability to land with your dragons and attack ground troops by setting them on fire with your flame attacks or swiping them with your tail or just using your dragons mouth to munch through the crowd. The story line in Lair is pretty basic with some a few plot twists here and there. Lair stands out from other games do to its control scheme you actual feel like you are controlling a dragon with the six-axis control. Some people will pick up the game and easily get the controls down I did while others will find them selves having to try out the practice tutorials which help a lot getting down the basics which really help during game play. One of the things that could have been improved in Lair is the mission objectives on certain missions you find yourself lost trying to figure out what to do next even with the dragon vision mode that highlights your target objectives it still does not map out some mission goals clearly enough. If there is a sequel to Lair there are a lot of things they can be done to expand the game play even more. Lair has a couple of hiccups it still is a good game though its not going to be everyone's cup of tea for those who do want to try something new check this game out.
