Here in the city the lights do shine bright,
But only for those who have beds at night.
The beautiful restaurant and beautiful wine,
If only we could all just, that way dine.
Her Chanel jacket and her Jimmy Choos,
I see my feet, wearing bags not real shoes.
You see I’ve been there and I’ve had it all,
With cash in my pocket, damn. I had a ball.
The friends that I had wouldn’t notice me now,
They’re mythical beasts like a half man half cow.
So I write my missive, with some regret,
from an all night cafe that has cheap internet.
So please head my warning and please do take stock,
Don’t do as I did. Just step back from the rock.
