::: Blind :::

She made love to a man
When love wasn't involved
could call it anything
you want it to be called
And now what happens to our faith
Our lives
Our cheap and petty escapes
From a life so full you can't even believe
We locked ourselves up
We can't even breathe
Something caught in our ears
playing things in our heads
we walk around without a look
like we're practically dead
to the things we were
to all we know is true
and I can scream it aloud
but what will it do
For those who are bound
To a life on the street
To students in the schools
To the dealers packing heat
To the lovers who hide
In some form of bliss
But there's something wrong
Something they all miss
It's the truth of it all
And the truth is clear
It's that we live our lives
Without being "here"!
In the now,
In the "when", when it has arrived
For the freedom to scream
Freedom to cry
Freedom to be driven
Into more than a dream
Freedom to speak
Of things unseen
Freedom from what was
Freedom to choose
When we refuse to see
It's that freedom we lose.
