::: City Slap :::

City, you hurt me
Not the whips and chains of ancient times
But the chafing snubs and slaps of uncaring stares.
City, you hurt me
My soul is wounded by your rushing indifference.
I am whittled away by your cruel cacophony.
City, you hurt me
And I come back for more.
Hurt as I am, your jazz of shouts and songs renews me.
