There is a creature here
With a crank
I think it is a woman?
Crackling away
In the fizzy
Avocado rain
A long grey coat
The shade of Matisse’s
Piano Lesson
Dogged at the cuffs
Eating peanuts
One-at-a-time
Out of cellophane
Sounds and white plastic
Stretch sacks of everything
Everything her bed pillow clothes food
Life lumped next
To her on the concrete
Bench with God-knows-what
Everything makes her watch
As she waits for the express
Smells like rotten piss.
Does piss rot?
I think
As the vitriolic slowly breaks in
“Do you want me to move these bags-?
So-so you can sits down?”
I think
Does piss rot?
And she speaks too.
