::: Another, Another :::

The dark sky settles upon the city,
empty howls creep mightily into the night.
Free voice, free thought, free mind
and perhaps even the air sighs a little deeper.

A cab speaks out, another answers back
and this continues further into the night.
So much spoken, so little known and
the siren grows louder and louder to say
goodnight.

Time withdraws its' burdening melody,
drunken reverie sheepishly cutting into the night.
Words cast adrift, swallowed in smoky
nothingness, and freedom that once ruled, out of
sight.

Wondrous dreams invented, magic hour lined
again and again, the heavy fog dripping stonger into the night.
Sadness now awakened, with much delight makes
enemies out of friends and friends out of enemies and soon,
light.

The wails and cries echoing their plight
set sail for new horizon, the sallowy remains frozen in night.
Nothing heard, nothing felt,
the trails of the divine, blind and unkind
taken and forgotten. Was that life you
breathed or pleasure unfolded?
Was that freedom uncovered
or truth shut tight?
Was that darkness
enchanted or sicklied
with spite?

It matters not, light has arisen.
The scurried slither your right of rights.
Only, another gone, and you ravaged by the night.
