::: Illusion :::

I look at you and there is nothing to compare you to.
Life and love begin in your eyes, I am spellbound.
I am suddenly lost in a world you alone have put me in.
Your eyes invite me, yet you take me to depths I cannot fathom.
As I struggle to bring forth the values I was raised to believe,
I watch them die a death you alone ask of them.
My idea of love has now taken me to where I fear I may drift
alone forever, that same world I thought would take my heart
to places where only a great and true love could dwell.
Your eyes have lied, but I cannot see it there.
I love all that you ask of me, and though I crave that warmth
only you can give, it's worth is now fleeting, and I am left
with wanting much more, I will of course die without it.
I must now search my soul and ask, how can one not journey
to those feelings that run so deep, or gaze into eyes you read
so well, and not want to pursue the depths they will surely
take you to, the alternative is ludicrous.
