::: Change :::

Your check is days late and in your pockets you can't find a red cent. Your phone is off so you can't talk. And the landlord is knocking down your door for his rent. All the while your kids are on the corner chipping in on a bottle of wine. Playing hooky from school seems so cruel. But education is far out from what's on their minds. Change. When will we realize we are the object of change. But you can't learn what you've never been taught. Change can only come from an exchange of thought. Work if you can get it is hard. But you must somehow find a job to survive and keep your head above water. But oh my God, do you mean to tell me that a dishwasher for an hour's work makes only five dollars and a quarter? Change. Oh Lord, teach me the Golden Rule. Give me the ability to learn in school. I'll honor my father and mother. Be the keeper of my brother. And lead me on so I'll be strong. And be a role model for all my peers. And guide my hand through this new land for all of these 25 years.
