Sometimes I think of what might have been,
Now I no longer fear I'll never love again.
Loving you was a pain not easily forgotten.
I wanted to believe you loved me too.
Now I don't know if you did or not.
I hope you did and that it was fear that drove you away,
but not because I want you to love me.
I don't anymore.
I hope what I hope for neither your sake nor mine,
For if you did what you did
Out of jealousy, revenge, or company,
Then again, and again you'll seek another victim to keep with you in the dark,
And end up with loneliness your soul mate for eternity.
which only you desire for pulling others into your darkness.
Though eventually they will find the light and leave you with
Loneliness.
