::: Sean Kingston - Sean Kingston :::

Sean Kingston's debut self titled debut album holds its own in the hip-hop realm. Sean Kingston's first hit "Beautiful Girl" definitely made him household name. Come on don't act like ya'll weren't calling that track "Suicidal" for the longest because that was the only part of the song you could remember! "Me love" is getting pretty good radio play and it may be in part to its smooth Caribbean feel. a step away from the "dop-wop" sound of "Beautiful Girl".

Sean does use a lot of samples for his music such as in "Got No Shorty" which is sampled from Louis Prima's "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody", a song on the Raging Bull movie soundtrack (don't act like you haven't seen that movie). Don't get me wrong, it's a really cute song and one of my favorites but it still has a slight old school feel. As if that wasn't enough, his song "I Can Feel It" also samples a Phil Collins song "In the Air Tonight". Any kid of the 80's that watched MTV would recognize the beat. Sean Kingston does add his own twist to both and make it them his own. The one thing I will say is that will all the catchy beats, the lyrics of each song start sounding monotonous. Sean Kingston is very talented and sounds like he may be able to do a lot with what he has but let's be real, he's no T-Pain or Akon. Overall it's worth the buy, but after a least one, no more than three listens, the CD loses its appeal.
