::: Amy Winehouse - Back to Black :::

While many of today's artist's talk about capturing the true sound of old school R&B, one artist actually has. Amy Winehouse and her CD "Back to Black" seem to capture the true essence of this genre. Her album is comprised of song styles that mimic Motown. Her sultry yet powerful voice paired with simple rhythms makes for a perfect mix. There is one track that should be paid special attention to is "Me & Mr. Jones" due to the genius blend of the doo-wop sound of the 50's and the vocal styling similar to Etta James. It is apparent that tracks such as "Love is a Losing Game" and "Rehab" have the power to showcase Amy's versatility as an artist. I would recommend going out and getting this album. One this is certain, whether or not you loved classic old school R&B before you bought the CD, you'll definitely love it after!
